In 2009, my husband and I decided that we would use the government rebates to our advantage to make our home energy efficient. Therefore, we called Jim MacArthur Windows and Doors of Walkerton to give us quotes on windows, doors, siding and more. When Jim came to give us all the info we needed to decide what to do and who would get the contract to do it, we thought, no need to get a 2^nd opinion. Once we had all the pre-work done, we then called the Home Inspector to inspect our home with the eco-ENERGY program. Our first air leakage rate was 8.12, so he wanted us to get our rate to 6.5, and working with Jim, we knew we could do that. Jims Company arrived to transform our home into the energy efficient home we now have. His employees were very pleasant, thorough, clean it was obvious they took pride in there work. At the end of each day they did a complete clean up and returned the next day to again the same treatment. How could you go wrong with such a company. Our home became a “master piece” to us, with the North Star windows, siding, doors and the insulation also made it “energy” efficient. With all the work the MacArthur team did, the inspector returned to re valuate our home, and we as he, were very surprised of the outcome. Our air leakage WAS 8.12 and with all the work complete our rate was now 6.55, which reduced our air leakage by 21%. IN ADDITION, we increased our 5-Value to R5 and reduced our air leakage tremendously.
